Raktim is a seasoned media professional with over two decades of rich experience in top leadership positions. Known for setting up new businesses and turning around existing businesses, his expertise runs through key functional ranging from Business Strategy to Content Planning to Brand management & Marketing to Ad Sales Management and Branded Content.

With a career featuring stints in organizations like Zee Media, Zee Entertainment, Network 18 Media, India Today Group and The Times of India, Raktim straddles various media formats from print to television to digital with equal ease. Currently, he works with India’s No.1 News Network – the TV9 Network as the Chief Growth Officer (Broadcast & Digital). 

Raktim has proven expertise in identifying and nurturing winning teams to deliver aggressive business goals. He excels in fostering strategic partnerships and client engagements to co-create award winning content campaigns. Raktim’s professional high point has been in developing, monetizing and managing several Industry First initiatives across media platforms.

He is one of the pioneers in Indian media to have started the business practice of building media IPs and branded content initiatives during his tenure at the India Today Group, a revenue model which was soon adopted by other media brands across the industry.

Raktim has held P&L responsibility for leading media brands and is credited with scripting and leading the turnaround success story of Zee Business during 2008-10. Later, during his second stint with ZEE, he is credited with making ZEE Innovation Studio the best in business during his tenure. Earlier in his career, he played a critical role in the emergence of Business Today as the Numero Uno Business magazine of India.

He has also launched and managed leading global media brands in India including the likes of Harvard Business Review South Asia, Time Magazine, Scientific American India and Men’s Health.

Raktim has a keen interest and understanding of the Indian MSME Sector. He firmly believes that if India has to achieve double digit growth, it has to be driven by this sector. Raktim has a personal passion for Bamboo and strongly professes the fact that leveraging the social, economic and environmental advantages of bamboo can foster green living and drive socio economic development at the bottom of the pyramid.
